This program is the first place to start to learn about computers. This course pre-supposes NO computer knowledge. You will learn the basic pieces of the computer, what each part does and where all those wires go! We will spend some time discussing basic computer techniques such as “select”, “copy to clipboard”, and pasting. We will briefly discuss word processing, spreadsheets and email. Exploring Open Office - A Free Alternative to Microsoft Office

This class will offer a review of OpenOffice 3.x as an alternative to Microsoft Office. How is it similar? How is it different? OpenOffice is FREE and will read and create Microsoft compatible word processing, presentation and spreadsheet documents. We will actually use OpenOffice to read and modify Microsoft Office documents. We will look at the user interface and how to navigate through the applications.
